Ajith’s 50th film Mankatha was touted to be a simultaneous worldwide release but technically it may not be possible. Though the film will hit the silver screens in the national and international markets on August 31st, it will not be released in Kerala on the same day.
Trade sources say that non-availability of theatres in Kerala due to Ramzan and other festivals is the main reason. The buzz is that Mankatha will be released in Kerala on September 9th, 2011.
Mankatha is directed by Venkat Prabhu and is being marketed aggressively by Sun Pictures. The film is produced by Dhayanidhi Alagiri’s Cloud Nine Movies.
